I’m releasing my first campaign ad today, called Conventional Wisdom. It’s been uploaded to my campaign YouTube channel, and here is a direct link.
In accordance with the laws and customs of our people, the Democratic Pre-primary was held on March 10th unfortunately, much earlier than I had hoped for. The deadline for signature collection is 10 days after the Pre-primary, March 20th. I just didn’t have the money or resources to get the signature-gathering done in that time …View full post
Saturday was interesting. I bought a table at the Pre-primary delegate elections in the Democratic Party of Santa Fe’s headquarters and set up shop. I’m pretty sure I’m the only candidate that didn’t qualify for the convention that still showed up there. It wasn’t a great signature gathering spot as the whole thing is an …View full post
The last few weeks have been pretty hectic and I’ve been focused on organizing the signature effort for the Pre-primary convention. We didn’t get enough, but I learned a lot about what works and what doesn’t. We now have until the end of March to get the final number (1,844) of valid signatures, minus however …View full post
Starting today you can get a whole bunch of Closson for Congress stuff through the campaign Cafepress. There are prints of the poster, buttons, bumper stickers, yard signs, t-shirts, all sorts of stuff. The shop button in the navigation menu links to it now too.View full post
I’m releasing my third ad in the series today, called SuperPACs United. It features several prominent SuperPACs in the form of giant robots coming to the defense of the shady CEOs from the last ad. From left to right in the group shot: Americans For Prosperity: A SuperPAC founded by Charles and David Koch founded …View full post
I just uploaded a new diary on Daily Kos about the Stop Online Piracy Act, which will do anything but stop piracy. Mostly, its about censorship, corporate power, and of course money. Money is always involved. You can read it here.
I’ve also got my Act Blue account set up, so you can now donate to my campaign via credit/debit card over the internet. The link to do so is right here. If you donate you’re a super hero and probably really cool to hang out with. Thanks.
My name is Sean Closson and I’m running to represent New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. Congress. I’m a 25 year old artist and I’ve spent the last year and a half working at hotel. I’m running because I think government has lost sight of what it means to serve the people, instead of the monied interests. My big issues are economic justice, ending the wars (including the Drug War), getting money out of politics, reinforcing the social safety net, civil rights, and creating a Green New Deal to get Americans working again by building a more competitive and sustainable society.
I’ll be posting updates about my campaign here, as well as the Facebook page, Reddit, and Twitter. I’ll be posting editorials and position papers on my Daily Kos account, and YouTube will have my media i.e. commericals, statements, appearances etc. as well as video Q&A where I will answer questions anyone has.
Thanks for visiting and I hope I can earn your support.
